The Quarian race prohibits homosexuality, so Tali grew up believing it was unnatural. However, another taboo of the race – interracial couples – enticed her, & she grew up with a secret wish to meet someone of another race who she could fall in love with.

When it comes to sex Tali relies mostly on what she’s seen in videos or read in transmissions, & is thus very awkward. Due to being isolated to her envrio-suit she is also extremely insecure about her body, which she feels is below average compared to other female Quarians; she often makes comments about seeing other female Quarians & how they look in comparison to her.

tavianalvia:

“Tavi… vas Normandy?” he asked after a moment.  He glanced over to her, looking her up and down and then suddenly snorted.  “Right.  I know you.  Well, I mean I’ve seen you.  On the vid screens.  You’re from Shepard’s crew, yeah?”

❝ It means where I live. ❞ The Quarian chuckled,
shaking her head, amused.  ❝ It’s nice to meet
someone who isn’t a diplomat. & yes, I’m from her
crew. The Normandy. ‘Vas’ means crew of. You
would be Tavi vas Citadel. ❞ She nods.

tavianalvia:

Tavi snickered immediately.  “I fuckin’ hate politics but I also don’t get ‘em so that might be part of it.  I like people that’re straight up and… well y’know.  Vicious bosh’tet, heh.”  He smiled though.  “You seem alright though.  What’s your name?”

❝ Tali’Zorah vas Normandy nar Rayya. But I
guess I’m a far way from home… you can call
me Tali. ❞ The Quarian says, a smile in her
tone as she looks at the Turian.  ❝ & you are? ❞

tavianalvia:

“Well… you’re still here which is more than I woulda asked from quarians.  Way you guys’re treated I wouldn’t blame ya if you all fucked off to space and never came near the Citadel again.  People are fucks here with your kind.  So you’re here and you’re tryin’ which is a big thing.”

           ❝ Politics are just… they’re important, but
they’re also vicious. It’s like people forgot
why it’s important & just use it as an excuse
to be a total bosh’tet. ❞ Tali shrugs, shaking
her head.  ❝ If it wasn’t so important to my
people I wouldn’t try to be civil. ❞

tavianalvia:

After another moment, Tavi sat down next to her.  “It’s shit.  I know it’s shit.  Sorry you gotta deal.”  He glanced over.  “You’re really the quarian ambassador huh?”

❝ Do you see any other Quarians around? ❞
Tali inquired, glancing over at the Turian. She
laughs, shaking her head.  ❝ It’s hard to
          believe I’m really the ambassador… I’m doing
a shit job of representing my people, that’s
for damn sure. ❞ She sighs again, sagging.

tavianalvia:

“Notttt sure there is a point sometimes.  I’ve watched people talk and talk and get ignored the whole time even if they’re technically important.”  He winced.  “I know that probably ain’t what you wanna hear though… Sorry.”

           ❝ I don’t care about being important, I
care about doing what’s best for my
people. ❞ Tali sighed, looking away.
            ❝ & there I thought this was a place
            of civility… but I’m just a second-class
citizen to the other races here. ❞

tavianalvia:

Tavi blinked at the quarian, curiously coming in closer.  “People don’t listen to no one but they’re own selves here sometimes,” he commented easily.

Tali looks up at the new presence,
her unseen features dark with a
sullen look.  ❝ Then what is the
          point of being a n ambassador? ❞

( tavianalvia liked for a drink )

❝ Why did I even come here if no
one listens to me? ❞ Tali inquired
quietly of herself, sitting sullenly in
           the Citadel Presidium by herself.
